Biolume Corpse Flower — Now Available in Nectar

2026-03-21

There are flowers that bloom in the light. Then there are those that wait for darkness.

Introducing Biolume Corpse Flower, the newest permanent colorway in the Nectar lineup. Pale and ghostly in daylight, this string comes alive after dark, radiating an otherworldly green glow, like something pulled from the forest floor at midnight.

Nectar is Throw-Yo’s fixed-axle string: crisp, deliberate, built for players who let the yo-yo do the talking. Biolume Corpse Flower gives it something to say after the lights go out.

Named for the rarest of blooms. Wound by hand. Glows in the dark.

Why is it called Corpse Flower?

The corpse flower (Amorphophyllum titanum) is one of the rarest blooms on earth. It takes years …sometimes decades to flower, and when it finally does, it’s for less than 48 hours. It smells like rotting flesh. It generates its own heat. And it glows.

Not metaphorically. The corpse flower emits a faint bioluminescence in the dark. A cold, quiet green light from something that by all accounts should not be beautiful, and yet draws crowds when it blooms.

This string is named for that moment. The pale string in daylight. The green glow in the darkness. The thing that waits, and then surprises you.

Biolume Corpse Flower is a permanent colorway in the Nectar lineup. It is not going anywhere. Unlike the flower, it does not need to hurry.

Made by hand. Named with intention. Throw well.
